Week Fourteen Science Fiction and Satire
I have read only first two HHG series. In the first series, onne day Arthur Dent as a human of Earth heard from his friend Ford Prefect, who is an alien, that his house gets torn down so a road can be built, and his day goes downhill from there. That's actually the good news of the day, because it's Ford who can save both of them when the alien Vogons come to destroy the Earth to make way for some sort of space road. Ford and Arthur hitch a ride with the Vogon ship's cooks. And they do many many weird space traveling’s. In the second series, author used very scientific contents like death of a star or time and space warp but the story is just comedy and satire. That book is originally written for BBC radio broadcasting from 1978. Douglas Adams want to write a Comedy but Science Fiction was boom at that time. So, he started to mix his comic telling ability to Science Fiction and now he is thought as a pioneer of Comic Sci-Fi. So many puns are used. Maybe English writers like Lewis Carrol love to use puns. I also like the movie of this book and author also made a Doctor Who series, which I loved to watch recent TV remake series.
